On 4 January 2022, the drink was launched during an Instagram broadcast featuring KSI and Paul, two social media stars who had previously made much of the “beef” between them. The hysteria around Prime Hydration is an example of how fervently certain energy drinks are now thirsted after. There were scenes of carnage in UK supermarkets In three months, sales of Prime reached over $10m worldwide. According to the Grocer, Red Bull saw its total UK revenues rise by 19% in 2021 to £414.7m. Red Bull, the market leader, sold 11.582bn cans globally in 2022 compared with 4bn cans in 2011. The sugary soft drinks market is finally declining in many countries as consumers become more aware of the effects of sugar on health yet energy drinks sales are still rising rapidly year on year. The names alone can make you feel hyped up: Monster, Relentless, Rockstar, Boost, Furocity, N-Gine, Tiger, Grenade. In some convenience stores and supermarkets, whole chiller cabinets are now devoted to them. But never before have they been such an intense and frequently purchased object of desire. These concoctions – soft drinks that claim to boost potency and productivity – have been around in one form or another since the 1940s. Something strange is happening in the world of energy drinks. Actually, £8 isn’t even that expensive for Prime, which last year was selling for £19.99 and upwards a bottle at an off-licence in Wakefield known as Wakey Wines, which developed a cult following after customers started filming themselves buying expensive soft drinks there and putting it on TikTok. It seems there is no shortage of 11- to 15-year-old boys prepared to pay £8 for these glorified bottles of squash, which have become a status symbol of sorts. A teacher at different school reports that older children have been taking empty bottles of Prime, filling them with water and selling them to naive year 7s, who are left in tears when they discover it isn’t the real thing. Another version of the drink called Prime Energy also contains 200mg caffeine: more than twice as much as a can of Red Bull. Prime Hydration contains coconut water, B vitamins and sweeteners, plus branched-chain amino acids (which are used by bodybuilders to promote muscles) and it comes in lurid flavours including Tropical Punch and Blue Raspberry. “Prime” isn’t, as I first thought, a drug but a sports drink in bright plastic bottles promoted by the YouTube stars KSI and Logan Paul. Apparently, this boy was sourcing the Prime from a supplier in London for £2 a unit before selling it on to children who didn’t know any better for eight quid. A 13-year-old I know (whose identity I am thinly veiling to preserve his privacy) came back from school the other day and told me that there was a year 9 kid “dealing Prime” at the back of the class. So, if you want to stay purple, you’re going to have to put in the time and effort. Purple isn’t a natural color, so it can’t stay in your hair as long. Hair science is difficult to understand at first, and yes, it is a science. If your hair is already dyed, adding more dye could cause colors to change, or your hair might not change at all. On the other hand, dark-haired people usually have to rely on bleach and hair lighteners before the dye will ever show up on their hair. Light-haired people get the good life – they don’t have to use as much bleach, or in some cases, don’t even have to use any bleach at all. Using the microwave for 1-2 minutes with a paper towel over the top will also heat them up. Just stick your leftover baked pork chops in the oven at 350 degrees for only about 5-10 minutes which is just enough to heat them up but not dry them out. Resting after oven pork chops are cooked will help your pork chops to remain moist. The chops will continue to cook a little while they are resting. If you have a cast iron frying pan, then you can sear and bake all in the same pan.īe sure not to overcook your baked pork chops in the oven by using a thermometer, taking it up to 145 degrees. Make sure to start off by making sure that your chops are not too cold, so take them out of the refrigerator 20 minutes ahead of time to warm up a bit. Serve them on a plate with your favorite vegetables or side dish and you are done. STEP 5: Once the pork chops are cooked, remove them from the pan and let them cool/rest for 10-15 minutes. Test them to see if they are done with a meat thermometer which should read 145 degrees before taking them out of the oven. STEP 4: Bake them in a preheated oven at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes. If not, then you will have to move them into a baking dish or tray. If you use a cast iron pan or a dutch oven then you can just bake the pork chops in the oven in the same pan. It should take about 3 minutes on each side. Now place the pork chops in the pan and sear on both sides, just until they are seared but not too dark and crispy because we want the chops to remain moist and juicy. STEP 3: Pour the oil in your pan and put your burner on medium-medium high heat. Rub the spice blend on all sides of the pork chops until they are completely covered. STEP 2: Now take all of your spices and mix them together in a small bowl. STEP 1: The first thing you need to do is to dry the pork chops off with a paper towel so that your spices will stick to them better. Let’s look at the step by step instructions about how to make them. It is very easy to make pork chops in the oven. ✨ Date code is: 8901 ET (Made in France in January of 1989) Has a small tear in the leather slot (see photo #9) Interior leather has typical wear, and the edges of a couple of spots had slightly come unstitched but were gently glued (?) back down (see photos # 9, 10). Side question- does a CR70 film on the sunroof area make sense or am I getting too paranoid about roof protection Would you alternatively suggest some basic ppf from 3m (not self healing) to cover this part which is missed by KAVACA am a bit confused - isn’t full body ppf supposed to include all They are saying not much of the roll is left over and that roof area is excluded and it would peel off & that Endeavour is tall car so it’s not needed as such and that they haven’t really done any roof PPF. The Kavaca guys were to include this before, they said it would be covered from the balance wastage from roll but now seem to backing out on same just a day before I collect back my car did your PPF cover for Endeavour include the roof area as well ? PPF used is Aegis, which is self-healing and pre-ceramic coated. I am quite impressed by their solutions, amongst the options I reviewed so far and their thickness seems twice as much as 3M venture shield and prices are 30% higher appxģM pro PPF in my opinion is absurdly priced, and was not considered by meĭone with full-body PPF in Carzspa Bangalore. Do you think the full wrapping is worth it and can survive five years odd. I was too worried with maintenance of black, and switched to a 4WD Diffused silver that became available in last minute I just got mine two days back and am burning midnight oil to research on PPF & Ceramic I feel the need to act fast as I am planning another vacation in 20 days and I fear another highway run would further cause damage to the paint work and I really love the Galaxy Blue of my Compass Anything between a 1.2 to 1.4 lacs is my comfort zone this time Within my budget, although a little stretched, but I keep my cars for long (7-8 years minimum), so I am willing to make this 'investment'. Nanites are also used for cybernetic activities (hacking electronic systems), repairing broken weapons and improving them, healing the protagonist on surgery tables, and, after death, resurrecting him in special chambers found on most levels.Ĭybermodules are received for successfully completing objectives or found during exploration. There are also some alien items that the player has to research (which usually requires finding specific chemicals in the ship's chemical stores) researching weapons and items allows the player to use them, and researching enemies' organs makes it possible to deal more damage to them.Īpart from finding them lying around, items can be bought from "matter replicators" for nanites, the game's currency. The soldier can find armor to wear and implants which will amplify his skills, as long as their battery doesn't run out. Healing items, such as medical hypos and medikits, will save the hero's life, while other items will shield him from radiation, cure him from poisoning, or temporarily boost his attributes. However, ranged weapons deteriorate quickly as the player character uses them, and will eventually break down after prolonged use. The ranged weapons can accept a few different types of ammo, each of them efficient against different foes, and can shoot in two firing modes. The game emphasizes survival rather than elimination of enemies in many situations the protagonist is underpowered, and new enemies may appear in already explored areas.Ĭombat is done in FPS style, with both ranged and melee weapons. Notwithstanding this initial choice, the player may choose to learn any of these skills as the game progresses, spending acquired cybermodules to develop the main character in a RPG fashion.Īs the hero traverses the corridors of Von Braun, he will have to avoid death at the hands of hostile creatures and robots on the way, acquire a variety of items, and complete missions to unlock new areas and advance the story. Marines specialize in combat, navy officers can repair weapons and hack computer terminals, and OSA agents may begin the game with psionic powers. This choice grants bonuses to the protagonist's initial skills. In the beginning of the game the player chooses a career for the protagonist in the UNN. System Shock 2 is a hybrid of first-person shooter and role-playing game. His first task is a rendezvous with this woman, for which he will have to traverse the monster-infested corridors of the ghost ship. The soldier is contacted by a woman who identifies herself as the only human survivor. It appears that both ships were infected with something so horrifying that nearly the entire crew was either killed or mutated into monsters. However, the next thing the soldier can remember is waking up in a cryo-tube on the Von Braun. This ship's duty is to escort the Von Braun, an experimental faster-than-light starship, on its maiden voyage. Pre-purchasing the game on Steam or GOG will get you the System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition for free when it comes out.In the year 2114, forty-two years after the events described in System Shock, a soldier joins the military organization Unified National Nominate (UNN), receiving the number G65434-2, and is shortly thereafter assigned to the military space ship Rickenbacker. System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition doesn't yet have a release date, but the System Shock remake is less than two weeks away-it's set to come out on May 30. Multiplayer in the Enhanced Edition "has been overhauled to create a seamless experience," Kick said, and will both simplify the process of connecting with other players and provide a smoother and more stable experience. Co-op play was added to the original System Shock 2 in a post-launch patch, and to be blunt it was janky as hell: It was fun to pant and sweat with a couple of friends while running through the corridors of the Von Braun, but it was also a chore to get running and prone to crashing, and not really worth the hassle once the initial novelty wore off. The visuals are the most obvious upgrade but Kick said the biggest difference in the System Shock 2 Enhanced Edition will actually be seen in the game's overhauled multiplayer. In my mind's eye, System Shock 2 has always been sharp and realistically detailed, but when I look at these images I'm forced to acknowledge that perhaps the passage of time is more of a distortion field than I realized. You can see the difference in the before-and-after screens above. She would want us to help others when they need help and to give back more as we make more money. My wife has declared we won't go to an establishment in this chain again. My mother, Angie, had a huge heart. The place has a feeling of uncleanliness about it. The service was average, and overly familiar. There were items on the menu they don't actually serve in Hawaii, (the 'server' said they just get the materials sent to them from the mainland), so not having menus for that actual restaurant is a cost-cutting measure. The Brussels Sprouts had an unnecessary greasy sugary sauce glooped all over them. The pasta sauce was some sort of salty gloop that obliterated the lobster flavor (it did have some diced tomatoes as filler, but these were flavourless). You couldn't taste the lobster because of all the salt added. Unfortunately, while the portions were generous, the actual items were each individually awful. Everything we had, had the potential to be excellent, had it been prepared by even a moderately talented chef. Thus the items served are either over salted, over sugared, over oiled, or all three. They don't bother with trained chefs, and the formula for the items served are designed for profit and least common denominator of clientele. This is a corporate run chain restaurant. The one shining light on that evening was the bartenders, they were great and helpful, as we were having to go to the bar to order most our drinks including sodas. This is definitely a reflection on the manager and his unhelpful assistance. We ended up eating dinner a little after 8p. We did see him, but he didn't once offer to help out the waiter and he knew we had been waiting there for a while. He is responsible for the restaurant when he is there, and he was nonexistent. I believe if the Manager stepped in to assist it would have not been such a disappointment. And it pretty much went downhill fast from there on. He did stop off every now and then and say, I'll be right with you. He was busy, yet the section they put us in only 4 tables had people, our table was #5. Unfortunately, they sat us in a section that had a terrible waiter. We haven't been there in ages because the service and food had gone downhill the last time we were there. It was our mom's 81st birthday and we told her to choose anywhere she wanted to go. I hope everyone else has a great experience, but will not be going back! More This meal ran us $150 USD so 255$ CAD for us and I didnt get to eat anything! I did reach out to customer service support team, but they have yet to get back to me. When getting home, the lobster wasnt cooked all the way, and the crab and potato was awful. I asked to take it to go as I was having a grumpy baby at this time. When i told her I could not eat the food (going on2 hrs now) she just said she could remake some of it and that was it. When letting the server know, she advised the warmer to keep food from getting cold was broken. It must have been sitting there for a while because it was cold cold. Food came out a little over 1.5 hrs later and it came so cold. I didn't mind waiting, even with our baby. seafood dish and a steak dish, but was informed around 30 minutes in that they were going to be about an hour due to only one line cook. I will say the server tried her best with what she had, but unfortunately it was a sinking ship. While I didn’t get to test the Plus version, the regular HD 10 was snappy enough in almost everything I did – so unless you’re planning on doing some heavier multitasking operations (such as detailed photo editing), or more hardcore gaming (which would still be limited) – there isn’t much reason to pay more for the Plus version. The Plus also supports wireless charging, and it has a different outer finish, called “soft-touch” – and that’s about it. Most of the features are the same, as is the screen size – but while the regular HD 10 has 3GB of RAM, the Plus model comes with 4GB of RAM. The tablet comes in several variants and price points: the main difference is between the HD 10 and Fire HD 10 Plus. The Fire HD 10 won’t replace your laptop – but it’s a perfect tablet for, well, having fun. It’s an excellent 10″ streaming video machine (with most – but not all – of the major streaming services supported), it’s great for reading books, comics or magazines, it’s strong enough to run most mobile-based casual games, and you can even use it for video calls (although the camera is only passable). Their first and major selling point is the price level – these are cheap tablets, and even the Fire HD 10 which I’m reviewing here, normally starts at less than £150, and sometimes even less than £100, if you catch a good deal.īut the surprising bit is that for this low price – you’re getting a lot. So we’re mostly left with Apple’s iPads, which are expensive, Samsung’s tablets on the Android side, which are also expensive, and a few additional not-very-popular minor Android models. Laptops are still very much around, and with smartphone screens getting bigger and bigger, the need for tablets is decreasing. These days, however, tablets are somewhat of a niche product. Up until a few years ago, tablets were the hot gadget to get – big screens (well, bigger than phones), a wide range of apps, and the promise of productivity with optional keyboard attachments – some even believed tablets would replace laptops. So, is this the tablet to get in 2021, and who is it best for? Let’s dive in… Though of course, it’s not perfect – this isn’t an official Android device, so there are a lot of apps missing (especially Google’s ones), the camera is average at best, and you’re constantly being pushed into the Amazon ecosystem. So the Amazon Fire HD 10 (2021 model) is sort of in a category of its own: It’s a 10.1″ tablet with a bright Full HD screen, it’s pretty swift and easy to use, has a decent library of apps that includes most of the major streaming apps (including all the UK broadcasters’ catch-up apps) along with games and productivity apps – and it even has Alexa built-in, for hands-free voice control.Īll this – for a VERY affordable price, far lower than almost any tablet with similar features. The Android tablet market is almost non-existent, except for Samsung, which is expensive – and very few others. iPads pretty much defined what a tablet is, but they’re expensive and gated with iOS. Tablets are a strange product category these days. |
